FLOWER

  1. Beautiful. Nice work, Louis. Are you a Bird of Paradise expert? I saw an unusual one this weekend at the The Lumberyard in Encinitas - in front of the public loo - and would like to know its botanical name so I could track it down for my garden. It was the variety pictured above, not the Giant Bird of Paradise that resembles a banana plant. But the tallest flower stalks were taller than I am and a few of them had 2 flowers per stalk. Otherwise, the plant and and flower were the same as the one you photographed.

  2. Thanks Michael. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I am a Botanical idiot. I used to know the difference between "Maui Wowi" and "Santa Rosa Red", but those days are long gone. The present picture was of a common "Bird" that I "enhanced". i am pleased that my imagination coincided with Reality (for a change). Be good. Louis N.
