And another

Postscript: Here is another version, I put something like this in a show, or on a calendar a few years ago. Can't find the original file but this approximation is close and it shows the bird a bit differently. Helps establish scale as well.

  1. I dunnno about Victorian, unless you are referring to a similarity between this and the early B&W plates brave dudes would make by lugging full plate cameras into such places. The survivors achieved fame. These are both fine variants and I suspect the original file is a dandy also. I think the top image is a spectacular success. For me the bird inserted into #2 is less successful. The first has incredible impact and I think I could make a big list of things I like about it. #1 is a standout and looks like it might be a good candidate for the lead image and poster image if you do a show. As a photo illustration sort of image (1) is in a class of its own I think.

  2. I agree with Jon… the top image is really spectacular! It looks like a price of fine art.The bottom, is good but the bird is a big distraction. My eye went right to it.

  3. The second bird works better I think because of the less intense lighting on bird #2. The lighting on the top rocks on #2 is much more "3D" than birdless image..
