I was working as a photographer for the Lawrence Journal World. A reporter and I accompanied him for three days as he visited all the local notables and gave a major US policy address at Kansas University.
We loaned him the negative of this image which he used as his official publicity photo for several years. In return, he autographed an original print for me.
A physiognomist would tell you that the close set eyes denote an unscrupulous individual, not to be trusted. But I am sure that there are exceptions...
