One of my all-time favorite movies is "The Big Chill." It presented once-upon-a-time college chums gathered for the funeral of one of their group. To represent the missing friend, director Lawrence Kasdan featured an empty chair in several of the scenes. As in this photograph, the empty chair causes the viewer to reflect on interpretations of the image.
