So much to absorb. 1954. My wife was 2 years old. The traffic sign says "Walk," but the women aren't budging. There was street litter in 1954. Dinner was "60¢." It's winter and there's a rose banner. Pasadena? A Life Magazine-worthy take on Americana.
I found a cache of old Kodachrome's at my mother's place. These were some old shots of downtown Portland. It was quintessential 1950's. The expressions on the girl and the ladies were interesting and the erect posture of the lady in black was interesting. It just kept looking more and more interesting so I cropped it and put it up. The sense of incompleteness that came along with the image just being posted without comment was half of the interest for me.
Great, Jon. I wonder how it would look in B and W?????
ReplyDeleteWhat's the dillio on this one? Need more info, awesome shot, Jon. You take this with your Brownie during Eisenhower?
