Digital Photo Exchange

On the last Thursday night of each month, Photographer / Educator Larry Vogel hosts the Digital Photo Exchange (DPX) in Oceanside. The DPX is a group of people who come together to display, evaluate and critique their own photos. Each person may submit up to 3 images that are projected on to a screen. There is an open critique and frequently Larry will put the images in to Photoshop and make the adjustments suggested in the critique.

Larry is a really neat guy, fine photographer and is very knowledgable about PS. He is also very willing to share his extensive knowledge of photography and PS.

This is a great opportunity to see the work of some very talented photographers as well as learn more about PS. If anyone would like to go this month, Thursday April 25th please let me know. My e-mail is mike.reardon@sbcglobal.net

DPX starts at 6:00 PM and ends about 9:30 PM. This is a no cost event! I hope to see you one of these months!

A Bracing Evening Stroll

We saw this brace of ducks out for a stroll in our backyard this evening.
This is the first time we have seen ducks in our yard in the 20 years we have been here.

Jelly drive you so mad

Why don't you folks ever post extra large or original size? Why I am the  only one who ever takes advantage of supersizing it? They are easier to see big. They look cooler. You people are guilting me out. Think outside the box.

This photo is a bit soft and has some obvious defects but I feel that they are overridden by and large by the "science fiction" quality of the figures. This one I could paint up and turn into a monotype. Little more toothbrush splatter.

Evening Pickup Ride - Lovin' It

Art Shay exhibit

My daughter invited my wife and I to a photography exhibition in Los Angeles this past weekend. It was a collection of works from Art Shay, a Life Magazine photographer who just celebrated his 92nd birthday and still shoots! I loved his work.

Excuse the frame glass reflection, but this one of Marlon Brando--taken on the only occasion he ever met the man in his life--particularly grabbed me. You can still see the show for a week more or so, and I highly encourage it. Worth the drive up to L.A. Here's the link to the show:
