BLISS

  1. This resembles gum bichromate. Some gum printers would go for the low contrast light look and could easily wind up with both the "brushmarks" and paper texture that are simulated here. I am a sucker for this stuff but I found out the hard way that there aren't that many folk that go for these.

  2. THANKS JON: IT IS A STYLE THAT I'M NOT THAT NUTS ABOUT. IN THIS CASE, IT JUST HAPPENED: THE PROFILE WAS A SMALL SNIPPET OUT OF A SHOT I TOOK LAST WEEK AT THE TEMECULA FARMERS MARKET. I REALLY LIKED THE WOMAN'S PROFILE -- SHE EXPRESSED BLISS --BUT, SHE ALSO SEEMED BOUNDED BY VARIOUS UNKNOWNS -- SO IN TRYING TO BRING THIS OUT MORE FROM THE ORIGINAL PHOTO, THIS IS WHERE I ENDED -- NOT SATISFACTORILY, BUT IT WAS THE BEST I COULD DO.

  3. I am an aesthetic outlier in a lot of ways and I like the image. Seems to have a lot of different emotions, but I see the bliss and I think the treatment carries it well.

It's fascinating how expressive a woman's face can be. Such as conveying bliss. Thanks for capturing and sharing that, Louis.
