Death Valley is really surprising in it's beauty. In June it is rigorous, 120° F the first two days, so precautions have to be taken but it is worth the craziness overall. In June there were not huge amounts of people. It is a spiritual place in the sense that the spirituality of nature which we see here is there also but without interference. I didn't observe anyone falling to their knees and seeing the light, probably because when one hits the knees it is time to call the paramedics.
